Join the San Antonio Area Tourism Council at the 19th annual, Salute to Education, a unique educational fundraiser showcasing local area high school culinary and hospitality arts programs on Thursday, May 9 at the Hilton Airport Hotel from 5:00-7:30 PM. This year’s event is an appetizer competition in which area high school students compete for a “People’s Choice Award” and a special “Celebrity Chefs’ Choice Award” selected by a panel of esteemed professional chefs. Join us for a fun night with tastings from top culinary students around San Antonio competing with their signature dishes!
For the past 19 years, the San Antonio Area Tourism Council has been dedicated to providing students pursuing degrees in the hospitality field with an opportunity to obtain scholarships at the Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Arts Program at St. Philip’s College. SAATC’s Milton Guess Endowment along with an endowment from the Alamo Area Hospitality Association provide opportunities to position students to qualify for the best jobs in the hospitality industry, including leadership roles.
